Antimony demand target sheet.

The top U.S. antimony importers and end-users by volume — the demand side of an SMR antimony sleeve — mapped by segment, China exposure, and prospect priority. Sort any column; filter by segment or data quality.

Universe 26 entities across 6 segments + supply-side nodes Consumption split (USGS 2025) flame retardants 49% · antimonial lead & ammunition 40% · glass/ceramics/other 11% Recycled supply ~12% of consumption
Read the data flag first. Company-level antimony tonnage is mostly not public. Rows fall into two kinds: importers of record (named in free customs aggregators — share known, exact tonnage gated behind paid data) and end-users (the dominant U.S. firm in a consumption segment, which mostly buy through distributors and file no import record — volume is inferred from segment share). The flag column tells you which, and where paid customs data (Panjiva/ImportGenius) is needed to harden the ranking.
Customs named in free trade data; share known precise tonnage needs Panjiva/ImportGenius Proxy segment-leader inference; no direct import record Forwarder logistics intermediary — exclude from demand Producer supply-side node (domestic/recycler)

Sources & method

  • Consumption split & recycling: USGS, Mineral Commodity Summaries 2025 — Antimony (flame retardants 49%, antimonial lead & ammunition 40%, nonmetal 11%; recycling ~12%). usgs.gov
  • Importers of record & shares: Volza / Seair U.S. antimony & antimony-trioxide import data (Youngsun & Essen ~22%, JRJ ~15%, Minmetals L.A. top by shipments). Free-tier shares; tonnage gated. volza.com
  • Sourcing shift (China→Thailand/Mexico): IndexBox; Reuters via US News. reuters/usnews
  • End-user segment leaders: public market-share reporting for lead-acid (Clarios, East Penn, EnerSys, Stryten), ammunition (Olin Winchester, Kinetic Group), PET (Indorama, DAK/Alpek, Nan Ya), flame retardants (AMSPEC, ICL, LANXESS, Albemarle, Nyacol), and domestic supply (USAC, Perpetua).
  • To harden the ranking: a Panjiva or ImportGenius pull keyed to HS 811010 (antimony), 282580 (antimony oxides) and 283329-class compounds would convert the "Proxy/Paid" rows into ranked bill-of-lading tonnage. Flagged per row.

Directional prospecting tool, not verified procurement volumes. Company-level antimony tonnage is proprietary; end-user rows are segment-leader inferences. Checked July 6, 2026.
